The unbelievable turmoil that surrounds us. Many countries are in havoc with turmoil and war between the citizens of one country to nature's wrath and fury of earthquakes and tsunamis in another. We help out as much as possible and though some may wonder why I do not.
The ethnic diversity in Hawaii and the cultures within each contain huge growing experiences. I was fortunate to travel in many countries as well and through each I have turned all into learning experiences. I opened my mind.
Opening our minds to new experiences will be rewarding.
No matter how negative the situation may be we will learn something from it. (Unless you are closed minded) Reading and hearing about situations that allow humans to induce bigotry and prejudice into their lives tells me I do not want to be like that. A learning lesson in itself
I accept that no one person in this vast world is perfect. There is no such thing as perfect and I accept that. I accept that each culture has their own beliefs, morals and values and no matter how negative it may be I am grateful for the person I am today as I'm sure many of you are.
The earthquake and tsunami in Japan tore at my heart. The destruction and loss of lives was no doing of their own. It was a natural disaster; yet in the midst of all that was lost the Japanese culture shined through. There wasn't any looting, rapes, complaining, fighting or murdering going on.
We watched the television in awe.... as everyone came together as a community to deal with the aftermath of destruction. No greed...sharing what little food and water they did have. One man gave up his portion of food to an elderly woman. Wouldn't it be something to have everyone in all of our communities working together like this?
I learned an invaluable lesson from others misfortune.
Compassion and empathy is a gift.
If we all had this ability to understand that we're all in this together....
......Wouldn't our country...our communities...
....Our industry ...be in a better position?
