The Miracles of Life

We all know that the Miracle of Life is indeed the biggest miracle of all. In our lives we know that we are given life, we live our lives and then we pass away. I believe it’s what we do in between is what matters the most so therefore, I live my life to the fullest.

Balance is key to success…and behind every successful person is family.

I was blessed with two children, a son (30 yrs old now) and daughter (29 yrs old now) and recently blessed with another miracle.  My daughter, DoriAnne,  gave birth to a healthy boy, Brayden Oscar Moreno, this past Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 7:41pm.  He was 8 pounds and 7.9 ounces and 19” tall.

Brayden is indeed a miracle as Dori was hoping to conceive during the last ten years. I believe that things always happen for a reason and for one reason or another it just wasn’t the right time….until now.

Share with me in my joy for my daughter and her husband for their first born and our first grandchild ………. The First Few Days of Life of Brayden Oscar Moreno.

A Sight for Sore Eyes with a Gift That Will Keep on Giving

My mom has a green thumb. She can just put a dying rose plant from my patio ...in a pot...to her sidewalk and it grows like never before. She can trim a branch from a bush and it roots every time.  My mom just has a way with plants.

She says plants don't talk back and they listen.

Two days ago, she gave me a newly potted gardenia from a nice branch she rooted from her 40 year old bush in her yard. It came with a bud that was about to bloom and I couldn't be happier as I remembered every time I sniffed the fragrant scent of her gardenia blooms for the last 40 years.

After a long hard day at the office and showing two rental properties on the way home, I took a shower, ate dinner (Calzones awaited as my husband got home before me!), watched the news and settled down to a relaxing few minutes on my pc.

I glanced outside and lo and behold....a sight for very sore eyes (literally) indeed!

Thank you mom!

It's a gift of love....

That will keep on giving.

It's Almost Time for Motherhood!

I've been on pins and needles awaiting my first grandchild.  My whole waking hours at this time consist of work and anticipation of my first grandchild bursting out into the world and my daughter as a first time mother craddling her son for the first time.

His name is....Brayden

These are the instances that make us human in this vast world of blogging. We show a bit of transparency through this network called ActiveRain....and we become the "people...behind the words".

This is my world right now.....

Keep in mind that my daughter Dori is a petite 4'10"' of a 29 year old woman and usually 90 pounds....she's done very well during her pregnancy but about toppling over with 2 weeks left to go!

My Hero...My Dad

My dad was the apple of my eye (I was and remained his little girl) and there wasn't a time in my life where I doubted the love of my pop. I remember him picking me up to dance with me to the music on his stereo. I remember ......

He was the All American citizen and he retired from the US NAVY in 1969 after serving 22 years. He was an avid golfer who had three hole in ones in his lifetime. He was the family man and the handyman around the house. Did I tell you that he tried real estate school for two weeks? He said..nope, not for me.... totally different language. He was proud of me, though.

My dad died of lung cancer on February 25, 2004. Five years of missing my dad.

The last thing he told me was, "Sal, no matter what..your life has to go on".

My husband and I quit smoking on January 13, 2007.
