You would need to put some thought into what criteria you would use in selecting your Realtor® of Choice. Would their dress code fit into the criteria? Age? A ‘seasoned' agent? Knowledge? Internet savvy? How's about production and quantity? Or...quality?
There really is so much to consider when looking for your Realtor® of Choice.
A few questions you might want to ask and qualities to look for in your Realtor® of Choice:
- Do you have time for me? You will need to decide if you need a ‘hands on' agent who will be available by phone, text or email and be available for you.....and exclusively you. Do they have another job and not available for you? What other activities are they involved in?
How many transactions are you currently involved in? You need to decide if you need an agent who will be attentive to your needs or if you don't mind dealing with many assistants if your agent is too busy for you. There is such a thing as too much on the plate to not handle your transaction effectively.- Are you a local expert? Your Realtor® of Choice will be well versed in the knowledge of their local area, market conditions and neighborhoods. Real Estate is everything around us so be sure your agent knows your community.
- Are you aware of lending criteria for today's current market home buyers? Your Real Estate agent should know what loans and criteria will affect the sale or purchase of your home. They will also know which loan officers
- Are you technology savvy for marketing my home on the internet AND in our local area? 85-87% of home buyers are perusing the internet to look for homes and sellers are looking for efficient agents who go above and beyond in marketing their home. Open Houses are a biggie here as well.
Look out for a shining personality (it WILL make a difference in how they present themselves at your Open House or negotiating on behalf of the buyer). Are they enthusiastic? Attentive? Positive? Also, pay attention to their quick (or lack thereof) responses for any questions you may have when interviewing your Realtor® of Choice.
It's the quality of your relationship with your Realtor® of Choice....
......That will determine the successful sale or purchase of your home.
