For Memorial Day- A Tribute to My Son & All Who Served

michaelThere are no further words to explain the love a mother has for her children; especially if they are in the the mililtary and in a war zone. I wrote the following post: How Can I Stand Here With You- And Not Be Moved By You? back in May of 2007 in memory of the heartwrenching, pull on mom's heartstrings during these times with my son who was in the US Navy. The day the war broke out on March 19th, it was my son's birthday and he was on the USS Kitty Hawk ...and in the Persian Guld.

...................You're "Everything".  This is a true story about the relationship I have with my son, Michael, and his homecoming from serving in the United States Navy.  How Can I Stand Here With You- And Not Be Moved By You?

For all those who have served our country I commend you and appreciate all you do. My heart to those who had someone they love....die for their country, for you and for me.

I remember too. He sent me this song through email on Mother's Day of 2006.

Sally, read all of your post, followed it back and listened to the song, what a lovely post, though heartwrenching.  Congratulations on having your son back.  You are truly blessed. Happy Memorial Weekend, are sure you are celebrating!

Sally - "There are no further words to explain the love a mother has for her children; especially if they are in the the mililtary and in a war zone".

My son has been deployed four times and each time sent right in the heart of a combat zone in Afghanistan and Iraq.  The emotional roller coaster of those times were the most heartwrenching that I have ever been through.

A special thanks to you and my undying gratitude to your son for his service.  Their is no greater thing we can do this weekend than to honor and appreciate the wonderful men and women who have served our country.

Sally, You get a salute for raising a fine son. He gets an even bigger one for his service to our country. We all thank him - and you for the worries you undoubtedly had!

Sally, you have every right to be proud of your son.  I served on the USS Ranger (CVA 61) during the Vietnam War for 3 1/2 years.  Give a hug for me.

Sally, What a beautiful video.  I can't even imagine all the sacrifices that have been made for us by those that have served and continue to but I am thankful that your son is home, safe and sound.
