Waipio Gentry is centrally located on the island of Oahu and has about 3363 units that are mainly single family dwellings and townhomes. There are a couple of business areas and we are located 5 minutes south of Mililani and 5 minutes north of Pearl City.
The picture to the left is the walking jogging path located at the edge of our complex and it extends over a mile and leads down to the shopping center.

The colorful tree lined street to the right is Waipio Uka Street and is one of the main streets in Waipio Gentry that will take me to the Waipio Shopping Center or a block down I'll take a left and head to Costco!

I was running errands and my first stop was Harbor Center to drop off documents at a local Real Estate office in Waimalu. (Post Office would say Aiea).
The view to the left is right outside the office where I parked my car and looking out at Pearl Harbor. What a life! Work as a real estate agent in Hawaiii and have this view right outside your office!

Picture to the right is the Aloha Stadium: Home of the Pro Bowl which seats 50,000. I had to take this picture out the passenger window so it wasn't a clear shot. I had to go to another agent's office at the Stadium Mall to return a lockbox from last weeks' closing.

On Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays we have the HUGE swap meet at the Aloha Stadium. Our rows and rows of over 700 vendors, crafters and artists from all over the world showcase exotic imports, handcrafts, and unique art pieces, jewelry, souvenirs, clothes and anything and everything you can think of.
The picture to the left (courtesy of Aloha Stadium) shows only a mere portion of the vendors! The vendors go all the way around the Aloha Stadium and have more rows besides!

I then headed up Kaonohi Street (above Pearlridge Shopping Center) and headed to my former place of residence at the very top of this ridge.
The picture to the right is the sign for the Pearl Country Club. On my way back down I found a good spot to take a picture of the golf course from above only to find out my batteries had run out! (Not prepared. Left my case at home with the spare batteries.)

On the way back down Kaonohi Street I took these following pictures of the view from up on the ridge down to Pearl Harbor. The homes to the left are sitting on the side of the ridge on a cliff.

Another view to the right of Pearl Harbor at a higher elevation.
Oops..hubbie called. "I thought you said you were bringing lunch?" I'll be right there honey! (took me another half hour to get there)
And that's the way it was....this August 7th, 2007 mid day errand trip to Waimalu, Aiea, near the Aloha Stadium, Pearlridge, Pearl City and back home to Waipio Gentry!

Woo Hoo, Beautiful. I haven't been to a swap meet in a very long time. They are fun. I went to one in Orange County and they sold Mercedes and Fur Coats at that one. I guess we would call that "High End",lol
Don't have much use for either at the moment, My Mercedes is doing fine and as for the fur coat, I mostly like laying on them in the winter lol
Hope your day was beautiful, it looks as though it was. I have 4 posts written and I am just too tired to type them, maybe tomorrow,:-) Off to the OutBack Steak House for Din Din with some friends. According to my schedule, I have 1 hour and 30 minutes, then Bye Bye , then it's Hosta la Vista Baby! I might take longer, business sucks right now,lol
William: They even have a Chinese massage vendor. I need to go tomorrow or sometime soon. I have kinks bad. I have never had a Mercedes or a fur coat. Take longer...enjoy ...have a good time...and it'll come.
Sally, very, very nice. Beautiful pictures. We have the swap meet right close, but generally busy so don't get over there. A fir coat? Probably not one here in Arizona. I am soooooooo behind in my posts. Thank goodness some of you are keeping up so I'll have someone to read to and comment about.
Teri: Many years ago we went to a "flea market" in Mesa....a lot of pottery if I remember correctly....that was back in the late 70's ...omg.
Susie: Come fly with us!
Sally...what beautiful surroundings. I could almost smell the tropical air!
Now the swap meet....that's more my style. I love them!
I love this, Sally. It's been fun to learn so much about Hawaii and where you live. Great content for Localism. Thank you for sharing. Great photos, too!
Jeff
It's like I spent the day with you. I loved the post, and I loved the logistics of it. Great idea.
Paula: Aw shucks Paula...it is interesting anyway. I get all excited when I go out of my area so I can take my camera and share with everyone here!
Jeff: Thanks so much Jeff...I gotta get over to yours and see what you've been up to.
George: Aw...you would. Just a nice environment to make the job more enjoyable!
Bruce: Ooooo.....I like that...then I can wear a grass skirt and run around doing the hula at the airport lol! Thanks Bruce!
Patsy: Oh, Good. That's how I hoped it would be! Thanks for joining me Patsy!
Marlene: It's fun huh? Hey...January!!!!!
David: Lol! Hey....just trying to show everyone why they need to come visit or live! Lucky we live hawaii!
Oh to have the ocean in my life this week would be so great! Your posts always make me smile
Sally.... how nice is the Pearl country Club? I would someday just love to visit Pearl, the history, and some of the monuments surround Dec.7th.....
Sally,
Thanks for taking us with you to run some errands, I really enjoyed! ;)
Sally~
Loved my tour of your Hawaii this morning. It made my day!
Thesa: And yours give me inspiration and relaxation!
Kaye: Great! Then all aboard!
Jeff: I'm going back that way....will stop and take pictures with recharged batteries!
Suzanne: Great! Believe me...I'm having fun all by myself...so bringing it to you folks makes it evern better to share with!
Diane: Depends on what area they are in. I really don't see much change in value as a whole neighborhood if one is a shack and the rest million dollar properties. The thing to understand is our land is VALUABLE. There is so little buildable land anymore. (price to pay to live in paradise)
janeAnne: I'm sure it did! So...when are you coming?
Katerina: I love to bring Hawaii to you all. The rest of them can bring you the info. For some reason I have a heck of a time writing like that. (too much time, huh Lenn?)
Randy: And why I came back to stay.
Lysa: WooHoo...now I'm seriously thinking about going...have to go to Pearlridge escrow office...might as well hop on down to the swap meet!
