A Professional Attitude.... Brings a "Professional Salesperson" to the Table
But....that's not what this is about anyway.... :)
Over the weekend I got a head/chest cold/flu and had someone else work in Admin. for me yesterday (I also work part time for our office :) I spent all day printing out Holiday Cards for clients, family and friends, set appointments for showing a buyer property today and called the client back to let her know what time to meet me. Utilizing my time...even though I'm sick.
I must be sick. :)
I also put together a Hawaii Relocation Packet together to send out today to clients who are relocating in a few months from Alexandria, VA. WOW! Who do I know from Alexandria? Why Brian Block! No, I didn't meet them through Brian.
They actually typed in Military Relocations Hawaii and found me on the internet. In any case, I set them up with automatic notification of listings with the property criteria, neighborhood, price range, bedrooms, schools and such. We have been fine tuning for over a month and I now was able to print out listings with pictures for certain neighborhoods.
Following is what I included in my Relocation Packet:
- Cover Letter
- The folder is white and on the front is a gold embossed raised lettering of Century 21. (Very white looking! Hard to keep clean but sure looks nice!)
- Hawaii Buyer Advisory: Includes information about zoning, the transaction process, links for government
and pertaining info sites such as school districts, pet info, title info, County Assessor, Ocean Safety, Volcanoes, and much more! - Loan Process Info
- Escrow Process (The life of an escrow)
- Map of Oahu
- Packet with VA Homebuyer info
- BAH (Housing Allowance in Honolulu County) Chart for 2007
- 7 Full Length Customer Reports for Listings from three different neighborhoods that they are interested in along with color pictures from each property.
- A few articles I wrote from my blog on Median sales prices, Relocating to Hawaii, Military Relocating to Hawaii etc.
- Buyer Brochure with tips for Hawaii Homebuying
- A Hawaii Calendar for 2008
I try to be thorough in giving information although once they arrive it seems it was never enough. I want to make sure they understand everything and therefore explain away anyway. The written word is never enough, is it?
So..... what's in your relocation packet?

Sally, This is a wonderful very inclusive relocation packet that you send out...amazing work ! I'm so glad that your beautiful posts are bringing you new prospects...they really luck out when they find you.
My relocation packet is very similar to yours, except for the things that only pertain to the USA or military, of course. I also include copies of some of the testimonial letters from clients that I have received over the years. Prospects seem to really enjoy reading these and it gives them a feeling of greater trust and confidence in me.
((-:
Jo
Katerina: My Buyer advisory has all the info on hurricanes/volcanoes etc. with links to all including tax assessor info.
Bill: Thanks Bill! I do both (not at the same time) and though some do not like to work with buyers.....I DO! I love first time homebuyers and gee....I change with the market :)
Lysa: It's the yuk part...all coming out ewww. In any case, I'm feeling better today than yesterday...yesterday I had a fever. It's cool...back to being Agent Aloha! Ha!
Jason: I'll send you one ...you're so silly.
Sally,
You are just great! everything else is a Secondary Tool, but it is still good to have. I hope you feel better, because the last time I spoke to you, it seemed like you were Sick.
Sally, great little package you got there..! I'm sure your clients must feel like its Christmas when they receive that! thanks for sharing!
Tom: That was the ear infection :) This time a cold. I just got my flu shot two weeks ago...I guess it doesn't help with colds. In any case....you're right ...I am the First Tool :)
Nick: Hey Nick! You're funny....I did put a Hawaii calendar in it though I think they'll appreciate it....it's for marking off the days until they meet me :)
Ryan: Okay, guy..you just go with your snowboarding :)
Brian: I'm on it....I'm waiting for an answer. BTW...should be hearing from the other one relocating there in the next month or so.
Dan: I do too...this was just one more way to show initiative :)
Sally, I don't have a packet, but if I did I would hope that it would have more in it then in my wallet :)
It is a very lonely and empty place at this time of the year after my wife gets through shopping ........ LOL
Sally,
If you do work like that when your sick, you must be awesome when you're feeling better!!! Thanks, Fran
Sally - Great relo package - I also try to include lifestyle stuff since people love living here (and Hawaii) - fishing, biking, diving, beaches, etc.
Hope you're feeling better.
Terry: I was doing the saimin thing...with plenty of hot broth....cold tablets, chloraseptic spray, ibu, plenty of liquids....yuk...it's the pits, huh? Take care...get well!
Cyndee: Good idea! I have some of my posts in it although it could use a bunch of beach stuff.
Sally - That's a great relocation packet. I don't work with that many buyers, but having one or two on hand sounds like a great idea! I hope you're feeling better soon!
Sally,
What a great package!! Looks like I have to update my packet, yours puts mine to shame!!
Sally,
Our company has a Relocation department that handles all the Relos. I know one thing we have is a great DVD that was produced by my company...it shows the entire state and the 4 seasons we have.
It's an awesome tool.
Linda: Felt good enough to show property ...and back home now. Thanks
Georgina: Well, I have you for Maui so we're even!
Harold: I think I need something like Cyndee is talking about..
Cyndee: I think that really would be the case for mine as well. I just did a post on Relocating and included the diversity with all the different ethnic cultures and stuff. I think I'll add in points of interest and stuff like that too.
Karen: I send a lot online as well athough I can give them printed stuff as well....made it a little more personal.....and sent biz cards and stuff as well...you never know...they might just pass my card to another..and another :)
Monika: We have a small office and we do our own :( .... I sure would like a dvd to send with a relo packet...hmmm...
Carole: Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
Missy: Wow....I am very flattered Missy...thank you!
Woo Hoo Sally...
I have bunches or pretty wallets...But alas...No packets :)
We don't do Buyer's...But if I did...I would answer the question :)
So...Did everyone in the Rain put up a post today or what? :)
TLW...ROAR!
TLW: I switched gears....I'm loving buyers...if they would just fly out of the woodwork and stop believing the smut media I'll be okay. My daughter informed me yesterday she was buying me a wallet. (I have MANY) ..... hey, I was commenting from this am...went out for couple hours and darn...more popped up.
Alecia: You go Alecia! I just did an unreal picture of surf and put Happy Holidays on it ...it did make for a nice card from Hawaii....I was tired of the Santa on a surfboard lol! I'm not impressed....I don't feel hot and held back from coughing....that's all I need...to make a client sick. :)
I have a lot of the same stuff in my relocation packet, but no calendar.
But, something that keeps me in front of the client that is trying to make a decision is I subscribe them to the weekend edition of the local paper for 8 weeks. Costs about $15.00, but my name is on the gift subscription label for the next 8 weeks and they can read about local news.
Todd: Get a calendar of your area...it's beautiful up there! So your local newspaper puts your name on it? That's different :)
Hi Sally,
If your relo person has kids, I'd always include something in the packet just for the kids. Something just for fun. I used to do a "mini" packet for the kids.
Hi Sally,
Your relocation package sounds much like mine. I do include property tax information and a copy of a list I complied of "where to go for" type services (register to vote, marriage license, vehicle tags, etc).
Hope that nasty cold is letting go.
You really are in the relocation business and your packet shows it! I need to work on mine...guess I wil take a clue from you! OH, this internet lead stuff works? Imagine that!
Linda: Good one! I will get something together now! Thanks Lynda!
Roberta: Better than yesterday...and the day before that :)
Cynthia: My buyer advisory has a bunch of that info. thanks!
Randy: There are things to do two months ahead of time so they don't get quarantined.
Gary: Oh, yes....it works! Thanks gary!
Margaret: I was sick so it wasn't hard to do the last few days...Thurs/Friday I'll be in the office. Hey, that site sounds like something they can use. will check it out!
Only puts my name on the mailing label, kind of like you see in a doctors office on a magazine.
