Part II will cover the sightseeing part of Oahu which will definitely be the "in thing" to do for the avid nature, scenery and picture taking lover! I am not only doing this series for the public but especially for the:
On the North Shore part of the island you will definitely find pleasure going through Old Wahiawa Town right past Mililani Town, Schofield and Wheeler Army Bases.
Continue onward to Oahu's famous North Shore where you'll see the HONU, the Hawaii Green Sea Turtle and loads of oceanfront land and beaches. Please read the following The Endangered Hawaiian 'HONU" (Green Sea Turtle) and Laws that Protect It so you will be well informed of our laws protecting all species in Hawaii.
Definite Scenic areas and points/places of interest are:
- Wahiawa Botanical Garden is located half way up Wahiawa Heights on California Avenue. It is a 27 acre Tropical Rain Forest and the deepest part of the ravine is 47 feet. Much effort has been made over the years to get the collection of native Hawaiian plants they have today.
- Dole Plantation with displays, the Pineapple Maze, displays, goodies and their famous pineapple whip it surely is a place to stop along the way to the North Shore!
Hours
Visitors Center - 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily
Pineapple Express/Pineapple Garden Maze - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily

- Surf and Cultural Museum
- Haleiwa Shopping Plaza
- Wyland's Art Gallery

Hi Aloha Girl!
Another beautiful job on part II. Hope to see some of these on our trip in Jan. One more thing, I hope your office is a member of your Chamber of Commerce, if so I'd tag these with the local Chamber Name, they are so good. In my office we are all members by virtue of my office being a member. If not, they should be paying you for this exposure.
Sally - This is just too beautiful. Can't wait to see you in January.
Teri: Oh, much research and stuff to do before posting something!

Sally... I will agree with so many... that the pictures are gorgeous and that the content is very good. Since reading your localism posts, I have seen Hawaii and the surrounding Islands in a different perspective. Great job.
Well now, I see I somehow caught part 2 but not 1 until I saw part 3!
Your whole series is just gorgeous - awesome for those relocating to your area as well for those visiting. Just beautifully done to showcase your magnificent home!

ActiveRain Guide to Oahu: Points of Interest (Part III)
I love this series. i gotta find a way to feature them.
We were there 2 years ago now...wow time flys. My Husband was a kid there at Schfield ...I am sure I misspelled that...but we went back to his old stomping grounds as well as the other islands. Wow I would love to be there now.
Keep in touch. Panama City Beach, where we will is beautiful too...we just don't have the mountains.
I am new to Active Rain and looking for ways to get better at this. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again,
Alisa
