Does Your Blog REALLY POP?

Blogging on ActiveRain has brought me business from the very start. I also have connected on a personal level with many members as well. (It brings a bond unheard of in any other blogosphere)

Blogging means that I make my own ‘POP’ with content that will attract readers who wanted to know more about real estate, my local area and certainly …. A lot about moix.

With consistency, dedication and a whole lot of hard work…

Were referrals from members and business from the consumer.

We all want to accumulate points, features and friends. It doesn’t come easy!  Writing on ActiveRain about my local areas and real estate are a slam dunk for ideas. But what about “Sally” the person. There are many a consumer/members who have connected with me because I give a little insight into who I AM.

We have to make our own POP in our blogs…

…. OH, SNAP. Really???

QUALITY CONTENT!  Writing a few words that have no real substance (just to get a few points) will not get connected to the consumer and members.   Believe me we see underneath those few meaningless words.  Your content comes from heart, mind and soul and creates a magical post when being REAL!

ADD VISUALS!  I take MY OWN pictures of our Hawaiian scenery, businesses, local areas and even me.  Entering pictures into my blog gives the story a visual and a personal side. A picture will give me idea of what to write about too! Get out there and take your own pictures to use in your own blog)

COMMENT ON THEIR BLOGS TOO!  Go and comment on others blogs too! Don’t just leave a ‘thanks for the post’ or ‘good post’. REALLY READ it before commenting. Don’t just skim and leave a comment that has nothing to do with anything. Connecting with others in the community means to interact with them too!

These are just a few tidbits to start with amongst using great titles, tags and keywords for your blogs. JUST BE.... REAL.

A Blog that Pops….

It’s really up to YOU.

“OH, SNAP!”  REALLY?

REALLY!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rest doesn’t come easy but these are my own person rules of thumb for Making My Own Magic in the World of Blogging:
Write with conviction, wit, humor, passion because everyone will read you if you do.
Write with original content and your own pictures that you created yourself because everyone will read if you do.  (and remember, PLAGIARISM means Stealing! Do not copy and paste someone else’s words, photos or videos!)
Write with wit, humor and emotion because everyone will read you if you do.
Write with the intent of giving back to the community because everyone will read you and give back to you and the community too. It’s not just about me, me and me. It’s about you too!
Write with integrity, honesty and respect because everyone deserves it and so do you.
Write a comment or two for the post you just read (show sincerity) and everyone will continue to come back and read yours too.
Write from your own thoughts with facts and not assumptions because no one will read you if you don't.
Sally, I love that our blog posts do let us share a bit of who we are, what we're passionate about & how our personalities intertwine with our real estate knowledge & experience. It does help real relationships form - both here in the Rain & with potential clients who find & read our posts (with pop)!
Giving it that extra pop means that they get a little  bit more information on the kind of person you are and if they want to work with you....another pop blog lol
$30,000 and counting. After 30 plus years in real estate Active Rain is a valid source of marketing of property listings.
Sally, I am all about being real.  I am not afraid to reveal my self so that people get a feel for who I am. After all, we are more than what we do. What we do does not define us.
As for comments, gosh it is so obvious when people do not really read a post ... their comments scream "I did not read this."  Some of my favorite peeps here in the Rain have done this on my posts.  What can we do?
Sally- I so agree.  Readers want to see and get to know the REAL person.  And, commenting here, more than just "good post" is so important.
I think you all know what I'm talking about ;)
When I have time I can pump out a good one...  Just reflecting on a post I saw about writing 300 words. If it's a good post of information and content whose counting?
Good points Celeste.  I try to make my blogs "pop" too.  With your beautiful Hawaiian scenery you must have blog material at every turn.
Sally - You are very good at writing posts that give us a glimpse at who you are and where you are. I have never been to Hawaii and always hear that I should go and avoid teh tourist spots, but I feel like I could call you and get the best advice on what to see and where to go even though I only know you through ActiveRain. I'm not sure everyone realizes what skill it takes to write with conviction, wit, humor and passion, but you are one of the great examples that ActiveRain offers to those who take a moment to read through the posts.
Great post......LOL :)  So, do you mean if we are real, take our own pictures, and write unique contnt without stealing from others that we can make friends and improve our business?  Ha.....well, now I know why I made such lasting friendships....:)
