Am I Engaging My Readers?


What do I think makes a great real estate blog?  Obviously, the content has to be very interesting and the title grasps the reader from the get go.  There are many topics to write about and though many may disagree, MANY of these topics are Real Estate related.




morning sunREAL ESTATE INDUSTRY INFORMATION:    EVERY STATE has its own real estate laws and contracts.  No matter if writing about the latest laws,  markets for single family, condo or townhouses in any given neighborhood on Oahu, I will write as if I am walking alongside the reader and ‘talking through my writing’----- as if conversing with that person face to face. In this way it gives a personal touch to the information I am giving the consumer. A market report can have some pop if a couple of pictures of the complex, neighborhood or even a gazebo at the neighborhood entrance to a community.  Giving information on the real estate transaction process or even a VA Loan Transaction Process can be exciting if I deliver the information with excitement. I love what I do and it shows. Again, words are only words unless I put those words into life!


Morning SunLOCAL AREA and NEIGHBORHOODS:  I believe I am the “local expert”. I know my area, the neighborhoods and my island of Oahu (Honolulu County). I grew up in the Mililani Community and can tell you the HISTORY OF OUR MARKET throughout the years from the time my parents bought their first home in 1971 (which by the way, my mom of 87 yrs. still lives in!) Being a long time resident of the area gives me the extra expertise on our local area and neighborhoods of Mililani. I can also let you know how many shopping centers and strip malls are in our area and that Mililani has 7 Centers; 5 of which have pools.  If my client asks about the theaters, Walmart, City Mill and all the wonderful restaurants, THIS Local Area Expert can give you the scoop!


PERSONAL POSTS:   Writing about myself does not mean I only let the public know about what I will do for them. Some clients want to know about the person they are thinking about working with! I write about my family, experiences, trials and tribulations and showing a bit of me and who I am throughout my writing.  I love to write about some of the history on Oahu and even the colorful and exotic areas here. Letting the consumer have a peek of who I am may most likely be the determining factor that tells them to pick up the phone and call this “person behind those written words”! 


Yes, REAL ESTATE IS buying and selling property.


It’s also about education with the most recent laws and updated contracts.


It’s about my community and …….


The person behind these written words.


I really try and engage my reader……DO YOU?

Sally, yes I do try to engage the reader.  I like letting people see who is behind the words ...and get to know me a little before we actually meet.

Celeste - Engaging your reader is critical to gaining their interest and hopefully pulling them in as a potential client. I think you are spot on about what we should be writing about in our posts.

I cherish what I prepare and it appears. Once more, words are just words except I put those disagreements into lifetime Buy-Assignment-Service! Expounding on myself does not mean I just let people in general think about what I will improve the situation them.
