It's kind of hard to get a clear video while driving along (and driving) in a neighborhood....unless someone else is driving. Then again, you get a side view of the neighborhood if someone else is driving and you're the passenger. Maybe I just need to get a car with a sun roof so I can stand up and take a video. Then again, I think that's illegal.
Click It Or Ticket! The Honolulu Police Department commercials scream....stressing that everyone needs to be buckled in the car for their safety or else you get a hefty ticket.
So....Baby You Can Drive My Car is the theme of my Waikele Neighborhood Video. I didn't talk (except at the end) and just listened to my music (Man on the Moon) while driving to pick up a client. (I was not going to embarrass myself and sing for you all ....like I usually do...with my windows up so I don't cause an accident for people passing by lol)
Anyway, the Waikele neighborhood is across the highway from Waipio Gentry and about 10 minutes from Mililani Town and started building in 1991 with only TWO townhouse complexes. It has grown to 9 single family and 12 townhome communities.
Following is the Waikele Market Report for townhouses and single family homes for the last six months to present:

I accidentally posted before I was finished...and Gary already commented! I inserted it here so I could finish my post... :)
Sally, don't remind me of the click it or ticket. I had that happen to me once, when I unfastened my belt to go up and grab some fast food and got the ticket. Shooting the video through the windshield is not the perfect picture either so it is not easy.
"Man on the Moon"? I love that song, though I can't hear it here at work. Whether it is law or not, I always click it ... it can be dangerous out there.
Hey Gary: Actually, with the FlipVideo I can hold it while holding on to the steering wheel so it's not hard...and putting a seat belt on is just part of a car trip :)
Lil Bro: You need speakers at work :) It sure can....we've had so many who were killed because they didn't have seat belts.
Sally I am disappointed. I thought that by now you would have the technique of driving with your knees while video taping down ......... LOL
I believe they call that multi tasking :) :)
George: Okay...that was pretty funny....(just so you know...I've done that a few times before...when I used to smoke and not have a wireless ear thingy for the phone. That wasn't very safe though.) and you wouldn't believe some of the things I do...for multi tasking ;)
Woo-Hoo: That came out great! We're YOU holding the Flip or was it mounted? Thanks for sharing...
Kat: Holding it and the steering wheel...came out pretty good huh?
Yes, it DID! I MAY try it--but the darn roads here are so curvy....
I have a great idea! You should put your camera on a tripod and stick it through the sun roof =D
And our city has those Click It or Ticket signs everywhere.
Sally, I love that you're doing these videos, they look like so much fun! It looks like you're driving straight into the clouds...
The going rate on tickets here for driving without a seatbelt is $150.00. OUCh, mine is always buckled.
Sally - how did you keep your car in the right lane and do the side shots?? I tend to go where my eyes lead! What a pretty area and you're doing a great job with these videos. You do great localism pieces and this video camera will just add to the great job you're doing. Are you officially the tourism ambassador yet??
Nice market report...so are you now taking a different turn?:)
Morning Sally,
Nice video, you are doing great with that new cam.....good for you! Just remember to click it though, you know how dangerous the roads can be...besides, the cost of the ticket isn't deductable. LOL
I tuned in for the singing....lets see..."singing in the (active) rain.".....OK..lousy attempt at "Cheesey" humor - get it? I can't help myself!
Yikes, driving and taking video at the same time? You are brave! I just checked out our first video and as I said I am truly inspired! I need to get out and try it soon! Great job and thanks for sharing your work as you progress.
Sally... they just passed a "no talking on cell phone" while driving law, unless you have a head set or such... but after watching this, I wonder if we should pass a "no video taping" while driving..... lol
Looks like you are having fun with your new flip video. I bought the new Sony one that is similar. I had time to test it out here yet.
Kat: Ours have a lot of potholes lol!
Lisa; I love that idea!!
Carole: Thought it gave more of a personal touch to market and area reports :)
Linda: Didn't you hear? I bacame an ambassador ages ago LOL! Thanks!
Neal: Yeah...turns all over....turned into the driveway too LOL!
Hey Hal! Yeah...it's like a routine anyway to click it...safer that way. :)
Gary: Okay...I'll laugh with you instead of at you LOL!
Diane: I have no shame :)
Jeff: I would just drop it on the floor if it interfered with my driving. It was like holding a part of the steering wheel :)
Randy: Go for it....loads of fun....I'll show you the one with Leona and Joann on it ...that was a crack up!
Love the video, Sally! The Man on the Moon is one of my favourite songs.....I would have been singing along. I'll have to get one of those little flip video cameras and take some videos around here. Amazing how different each area of the continent looks.
Jo
Woo-Hoo: follow up on my last comment... I TRIED it today. Not so hot. Gotta practice a lot more before I submit any of my videos. LOL
Jo: We'd make a pair...singing away and jamming while driving. I do get a bunch of weird looks but heck...better than picking my nose LOL!
Kat: Hey...no shame...get em in!
