There are so many picture perfect 'subjects' to get a shot of while touring the islands for memories; to look back on with wonder, One of them being orchids and floral mysteries that continuously astound me. The following shots were taken at the National Tropic Botanical Gardens in the Poipu Beach area on the island of Kauai. This is a Brassia type Orchid (below) but all types of orchids are abundant on all islands as well as worldwide.
Showering you with grace and statute....

Bowing upside down high above your head.....

And it's the mystery of color and form that grasps my attention.....

To the detailed lines and colors to give each a unique fingerprint.....

They dance and sparkle in the sun.....for you.

Oh Sally! How beautiful! I love the second to last one - that one is my favorite!! Do you have a "large" copy of that pic?? Could I have a copy for wallpaper on my desktop? Please?
(hey, just had an idea - offer some of your terrific pictures on your website as "wallpaper" for your customers to download - of course, watermarking the corner with your website URL..)
Karen: Go ahead ...if you like my name on it :) Right click and set as background :)
Hi Sally! Those are incredible shots....Great Job! I would so love to visit Hawaii again! I liked Karen's suggestion for the wallpaper idea too...
Have a great week!
Ann: Thanks...and I think I'll take the suggestion!
Sally- Just beautiful ~ they took my breath away...the first one fascinated me but the others enthralled me :) Beautiful Post for a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Sally, These pictures are just one of a kind. I feel so relaxed just by looking at these pictures. I can't imagine how relaxing it must be to be there and see the beauty close up.
The blue one almost looks like a bug. It is amazing how many different types of flowers we have in Hawaii.
Sally,
Way to get that camera going girl!!! :) Thanks, Fran
Hi Sally,
We don't have flowers like that around here, absolutely beautiful! :) P.S. I like the blue one the best too!
Sally great looking pictures of some wonderful flowers!
Wow, those pictures are beyond breathtaking, Sis!
Kathy: Went out to take more pictures, shop, etc. and bought a new program....Wait until you see what's coming.
Sally, What gorgeous shots! I could almost smell those flowers (and it will give me something to look back on in the dead of winter here :) Ok, out with it, what's coming now??
Sally I don't think that I have ever seen some of these. The first one looks very unusual, and the next to the last one almost looks like a cobra.
Sally, your flowers are amazing. I love how you edited the pictures too. I'd adore having these growing by my front porch!
Sally, your pictures are bright and crisp. I especially love the vanda orchid. Lucky you live in Hawaii.
Mana: I think so too...relaxing and such beauty yeah?
Randy: Leave it to you to classify it as a bug....hope it's a good bug. :)
Thanks Fran.
Suzanne: They're all over the place...especially in botanical gardens
Jeremy: Yup!
Thanks Lil Bro...glad you enjoyed :)
Carole: Ha! You could feel it huh?
Goerge: You and Randy need to get together and decide if they're bugs or reptiles LOL!
Lizette: I have had a couple of these in my orchid 'garden' in the back but the first ones died....there are two different types in the first picture.
Leolinda: The Vanda has the smell ...... sweet.
Woo Hoo, Hope your weekend was great. These photos are wonderful. And I am totally impressed and love your local stuff so much. I have been dazzled by what you bring forth.
William: Wait until you see where we went today! WooHoo! :)
Ahhhh...the REAL REASON Cyndee had to jump at the chance to visit you in Hawaii! These are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
Morning Sally,
Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures. I have creeping Iris, just wish their bloom lasted a little longer.
Have a great week.
Sally, thanks for providing a little color to my morning with these beautiful flower photos.
those are just beautiful! I just showed them to my wife and she now want to move to your area!!!
your friend in Charlottesville!
Sally, Wow! Beautiful shots of those flowers. That second to the last is very similar to a plant I have on my patio, call a Haning Iris. At least that is what my friend told me it was when he gave it to me. The blooms open in the morning and die by sunset. Such a beautiful flower with such a short lifespan. Thans you for sharing.
Sally - Sorry for the late comment, but your photos are wonderful. You are a lady of many talents and I want to thank you. I had a long day at work and came across your post and after viewing your pics your post really made me feel better. Thanks!
Hey Susie! Yup...she got some really great pictures!
Hey Hal...well, orchids last awhile but bloom once a year or 18 mos.
Brian: Glad you enjoyed :)
Charles: Or you can get some sent there :)
Bob: Yeah...I need a bloom to last a little longer :)
Robert: That's nice...glad it brought a little solace to your day. :)
Sooo beautiful. I raise orchids but only have about 20 presently.
Sally, Great pictures. I was in Honolulu a few months ago and enjoyed seeing all the lovely flowers.
