Kam Swap Meet is located right across from Pearlridge Shopping Center on the Macy's side. Back when I was a kid it was the local drive in theater. In fact, one time my mom and I went and we both fell asleep and woke up to a bare parking lot! I woke my mom and she took off like a bat out of hell and dragged the speaker thingy out of the ground. She was so scared that she threw it out the window! LOL!
Okay. Back to my story. Kam Swap Meet is a local style swap meet with all the souvenirs, all kinds of clothing, jewelry, arts, polynesian style crafts and such but also with the vegetables, fish, food, plants and some used stuff on the back rows.
This past Saturday I felt the need to restock on some orchid plants. They always seem to die off one by one. :( So we hit it up to the Kam Swap Meet specifically for orchids. And ....some vegetables. And some sliced coconut.
I spent the rest of the afternoon transplanting my orchids (which by the way cost me $19.00 for four of different colors and types) and cleaned out the rest of my little courtyard garden.
The price to pay for an array of colors to look at when at my pc is minimal!

Kam Swap Meet is open on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. They usually start at the crack of sunlight and they usually start breaking down around noon.

I haven't been to Kam Swap Meet in ages. I used to go to the drive-in movies. It is a shame they all closed down.
Sally, Swap Meets in Hawaii are so cool. Glad you replenished your orchids. A great plant and flower.
Beautiful Flowers Sally! And a bagain if you were buying them anywhere on the mainland thay would be much more! BTW, we still have a drive in right near my house. They don't have the speaker things any more you just tune your radio to a certain channel and there you are. No wires to cause damage, LOL
My Goodness. How exotic! Orchids in a swap meet. Only in Hawaii.
Are those Hibiscus or orchids?
Hey, Sally! I want some sliced coconut for breakfast! Too bad we don't have a swap meet around here!
Here I would have to pay $19 for one orchid! And they would have to live their lives entirely inside the house.
Morning Sally,
Glad you were able to go to the meet and find what you were looking for. I can't believe what you paid for those beautiful orchids. We would have paid close to or more then a hundred dollars for four here.
Thos are some great Orchids, and the price was fantastic!
Hi Sally! I have a variety of orchids that I got by mail. I can keep them alive, but not all will blossom again. I just don't have the right conditions. I love them though!
Hi Sally,
The drive-in story is cracking me up, we used to go in the station wagon! LOL! Your flowers are very beautiful and what a great price. Enjoy! :)
Sally - your drive-in story was a hoot. Can't tell you how long ago it was when I went to a drive-in.
The swap meets sounds like a fun place. There are some huge flea markets around where you can get just about anything you want. Those are beautiful flowers - isn't it nice to have them year-round?

Sally,
I always enjoy your orchid photos so much.....the one above is absolutely gorgeous! It sounds like a wonderful place to spend a few hours....I'd love to go there.
lol.....thanks for sharing the funny memory about your Mom and you..I can just picture the two of you.

Sally, I love Orchids, they have such a beautiful smell! And here, too, I would have no luck with them and could not put them outside :( Enjoy them (and think of me :)

Have a great Tuesday!
Sally it is better to wake up in a "bare parking lot" then to wake up "bare" in the parking lot ............. LOL
I would have to bring my pickup of the SuperFerry to go to your swap meet, and come home loaded with goodies.
