No matter what the situation or circumstance I have to be prepared to handle it. Life ALWAYS has curve balls thrown at us to test us and to give us grand learning lessons in this big game of games.....called LIFE.
We can either let it suck the energy out of us or deal with it. Always keep in mind that there IS something to be learned.
Needless to say, this has been one big week for me with many learning lessons.
- Signing was tentatively set for Thursday morning but loan docs were not drawn yet.
- Escrow from the closing the week before sent my clients refund check and closing documents to the wrong address.
- Ear Infection? Went to the doctor Thursday afternoon only to find out.......
- That I have strep throat and this topped everything off everything for a busy week.
- Late Friday afternoon the loan docs came in but won't be ready for signing until Monday but client is unavailable due to military stuff.
- Repairs finally completed and home is ready to do final walk through.
- Scheduled Open House today and had to have another agent cover for me.
- Yard man scheduled for mom's yard yesterday and I had to beg him to do 'something' in the drizzling rain until he finally gave up at noon to pouring rains. (mom's yard really needed work....again)
So what are my learning lessons?
- No need to fret, worry, nag, rant or rave. There are things that happen that are NOT in my control and I need to just accept that.
- What I do have control over is MYSELF. And I have no energy to waste anyway lol.
- I can reschedule, get help and continue on with transactions & open houses.
- My body says rest. Needless to day, I literally HAD to and though feeling crappy it feels good to ....blog.
- My husband can take care of me (wait on me) and listen to my whining "I don't like being sick". That got old quick :)
- That it's time to get off the pc....because I just used the little energy I had to write this :)
Have a good Sunday and a wonderful upcoming week!

I like your positive attitude. We are strong than "life". External events do not have some superpower to blow us off course. We must choose to be diverted, scared, or worried.
We have more power than we realize. It is not arrogant to believe in one's self and one's God. I think some folks are turned off by those with positive attitudes. Maybe it is their own inability to generate hope within.
We had a "what a week" type week as well. We're selling the home we live in and to get ready for our first showing was a lot of work this past week. Makes note to self to appreciate the work our sellers put into selling their home!
We just have to roll with those punches, don't we Sally?! Your attitude will help you get through your business 'punches' and improve your health as well. And I LOVE your pumpkin photo too!
Richard: Some think that positive means they can run all over me....NOT TRUE. Setting healthy boundaries is the key to healthy relationships.
Joe: Good luck!
Debe: Sure do...I really feel bad right now but I sure am tired of laying in bed. This was a first for literally being laid up. That pumpkin looks like how I feel :)
Hi Celesta
Well it sure sounds like you had an interesting week, Keep the faith.
Good luck and success
Lou Ludwig
Sally, sorry to hear that you're under the weather. Glad to see that you've been able to stay upbeat and continue moving forward even though things haven't gone smoothly in conjunction with feeling lousy. Just think how much better it will seem once you're feeling better. Strep throat is the worst - it just knocks you out - hope you take some time to rest - feel better soon!
Sally - a good day of fishing will help you feel better :-)
Sally, Sorry to hear you had a hard week. I hope you feel better soon and have many, many great weeks ahead.
Hi Sally,
Glad to hear that you survived such a wild week! Hope you are feeling better soon!
Michael
Hi Sally - it's that old control thing that gets us many times. I hope you are taking a little time to get your strength back and fight that strep throat. Hope that goes away very soon.
I've been learning that there are few more things that I have no control over than I'd like there to be, but that's just the way it is. And I'm continuing to learn that with each passing day.
Feel better,
Ann
Sally - It's tough enough to deal with a stressful week and have it topped by not feeling well. Your positive attitude will get you through. You should check out Gary Woltal's blog the other day called Message in A Bottle. I think it's time you took a nice lazy day and spend it on a hammock in the warmth of the Hawaiian sun! Get well soon!!! :-)
Hello What a week you had I want you to have this to look at as life does and always will be full a challenges that we can and may not be able to control. I hop you enjoy these pictures.
On this morning I was letting my dogs out and saw this amazing sunrise over the lake, I just knew that it was going to be an awesome day. And it was.
These fall colors were taken from on top of a fire tower that overlooks Big Sandy Lake in Minnesota this is a tree that I am standing above looking down over a Maple tree in full color. It is these days when we get out to see what life has to offer and asks for nothing in return that we can truly appreciate what a bad day really means. It was just that a bad day. God Bless and have an awesome day.
Rick
Sally -- One thing I have learned is that life will slow you don't even though you don't know it is time to slow down! I hope you are feeling better soon! Have a restful weekend and the truth is that almost everything can wait!
Keep your head up. At least you know next week is bound to be better than last! Rest and tackle the world head on when you are feeling better!
Sally here is hoping this week will be much better and that you did get some needed rest.
Good Grief! Stop complaining. You have business. Think of the folks reading your post that do not.
Get well soon Sally. Good for you for looking out for you MOM.
Hope you're feeling better, Sally. I keep telling my team that when they feel sick - go home, go to sleep. You'll be better sooner, and in the meantime, we won't catch what you have. You're so right about life - we can't control what happens to us, but we can control how we feel about it and what we do about it.
Hi Sally,
I'm so sorry to hear about your week and strep throat to top it off! I had strep throat one time and I had never been sick like that before. Do listen to your body and get some rest. :)
There is nothing like rolling with the punches when your literally down and out! :) While I'm whining I usually end the sentence with 2 kids, a husband and a dog = 4 kids who have a hard time soing a thing without mom at hand. :) Hope your next week is better!
Cheron Lange
Sounds like a rough week but we have all had a few of those. I bet this week is better:)
Lou: Interesting indeed
Jim: I hate being sick....today is the first day I can come online for a bit...rest...and come back.
Linda: Only if you went with me!
HI SALLY!!
I hope that you get to feeling better real soon. So, accept these flowers from my garden...
Mana: Got your email too...thanks.
Michael: Another week to look forward to... :)
Thanks Ann...it's friends like you who make it all worthwhile....believe me :)
Donna: Believe me...I have no choice...but to take it easy.
Richard: I so enjoyed those pictures and it's thoughtful things like this that make a person feel better thanks
Sally - I was wondering where you had been. Sorry you are so sick, take care of yourself girl!
Joan: I think you have something there....going going going and then down. :)
Alisha: Yup...that's it.
Jennifer: Ready to go down again...right after I answer these :)
Oh Celeste,
Strep throat? Yuck, that's no fun...get lot's of rest, the work can wait! You need to take care of yourself first, relax... have a hot cup of chamomile with lemon and honey! Hope you feel better soon! :)
Lenn: I'm sick and I'll complain...so there :) Yeah....that poor guy got tired of me whining so he continued until it was pouring down....now I feel bad.... :) And then mom complaining he didn't finish....oh, well.
Sally you are like the US Mail, nothing can keep my friend Sally Cheeseman from blogging :) :) :)
Strep throat sucks! That stuff hurts! I had it once and it felt like someone had stripped all the skin off the sides of my throat. It literally hurt that bad. I'm so sorry to hear you have it. I'll be praying for you.
Hi Sally, sorry to hear you aren't feeling so good today. I was feeling the change in the weather last week and battled a stopped up head. It's so good when all that goes away!
Hi, Just checking in to say hello and even sick you write, you are dedicated soul, I'll say. I surely do hope you are felling a bit better today and that you have been able get some rest. Feel better and I will call later in the week or weekend and we can catch up. I still have something interesting and maybe even remarkable to share with you.
Feel lots better soon!
Sally - hope you are feeling better soon. Sounds like a tough week, but this too shall pass.
Jeff
Sally, I hope you had a cup of miso soup and got to curl up in bed this weekend.
So sorry to hear you have strep throat. Hope you feel better soon. All the best.
Welcome to the world of life's responsibilities!
Sally - Hope Monday finds you feeling better! Sometimes things just have to wait while you rest!
hi Sally,
When it rains it certainly does pour....but then the clouds clear up and it's a beautiful shiny new day!
I'm sorry to hear of all of your troubles this past week and that you're under the weather with strep throat. Drink lots of onion soup and get plenty of rest...well, I'm sure you know all of that already...just want you to be back to your healthy self again very quickly.
hugs
Jo
I have learned that I have no control over loan docs, closings and clients schedules, I just roll with it. I had 3 escrows closing a week ago on the same day, I had to remove myself for the day, it was just driving me nuts... so I took a long coffee break.
I hope you are feeling better! We definitely have to roll with it in this business...but also in life in general. There are so many things that aren't in our control that we would make ourselves crazy if we did try to control everything!
Licorice tea for your throat with honey and lots of R&R. I love that you're up when when you should be down! I'm going to try to take a note from your book and apply that today!
Strep is the worst! What a crazy week, it seems like these types of things happen all at once sometimes!
Sometimes the learnings are hard to get -- and the frustrations feel stronger -- think it helps to write it out. I usually feel better once I do. Biggest thing is the realization that I don't have control over some of the stuff going down -- gotta let it go. Some days I have to tell myself several times! ;-) Hope you are feeling better soon. Had it once -- when i swallowed it felt like I had eaten razor blades! About the rain -- the sun will shine again! very important for me to know here in Oregon!
Thank you all for stopping by!!! I think just reading a few helps one get over the sickies :)
Just remember.....it's all in the manner of how I handle it :) :)
Today is definitely a better day.....had to be....gotta go to a signing this am.
I figure I'll be pretty dead by time I get back but at least it's better than yesterday and the day before that :)
Thanks for the reminder that all of us have life to deal with and it's how we react to what is thrown our way that matters. I hope you're able to get some rest and feeling better soon.
Sally- I hope you are well by now! No fun! You are such a blessing in so many folks' lives. Anyone who has you for their agent, has NO idea how truly fortunate they are.
Denise: Still doing the antibiotics and a long day so drained...but I'll get a good nights rest and be back up and running again :)
Karerina: Yup....just still get drained quick. thanks again.
