Regardless if I have a business plan for 2009 that surpasses all goals that I have previously set for
myself, the amount of effort and action I put into it will dictate my success no matter what year it is.
Regardless if I have a plan for my social and personal life for 2009 that surpasses all life goals that I have previously set for myself, the amount of effort and action I put into 'self' will dictate my success in ALL areas ....no matter what year it is.
- Blogging for Business- Bonding with peers - Plain old blogging and blogging on ActiveRain are two totally different things. We blog on our outside blogs for business. We blog on ActiveRain to connect with our peers, for business and for fun! It's the people that make this place alive!
- The possibilities are endless - No matter what time, place or circumstance, my possibilities are endless. Change is the only constant in this world and without growth my life would remain stagnant. I think I'll keep that in my memory bank now....and forever. (whatever forever means) It just makes sense. Sure I can have a few goals or a business plan but what is all that worth if I limit myself? Nope....there's more to life!
- Balance and Boundaries - Continuous are the challenges for these points. Keeping healthy boundaries regardless of who it is is my life goal. People respect me more for being honest. Who trusts a person who ALWAYS says yes? Who has respect for someone who has no balance in their life? There is more to life than business and more to business than just living.
The virtual meetings and interactions while blogging, connecting through social sites and contacts through websites that I have encountered lead me to REAL face to face meetings. PEOPLE. And isn't that what all this is worth?
This is just the beginning.
Look out 2009....here I come!

I put in motion the first part of my professional 2009 plan today. Should be an interesting year and if all of the pieces continue to fall in place next year will be another good one.
Sally good luck with your business plan for 09. I hope you kick some butt!
Hi Sally! I hope you've recovered from your Christmas escapade and are on the 'mend' psychologically! Just remember that we all love you just the way you are!
As for your plan in '09--blogging for business here is certainly highlighted with the friendships that we form with other members. I just LOVE this forum and am so thankful for many, many people here (including YOU!) and can't imagine not incorporating it into my play again next year. As a matter of fact, I've even incorporated getting my team to join AR and will hopefully get them to be believers too!
HAPPY NEW YEAR SALLY!
Wonderfully stated...it really does come down to the motivation and life-force behind the plan...and AR truly keeps me fueled up! Happy New Year!
I think that blogging is a commitment. Consistency is rewarded with results. 2009 has great potential.
Sallie, I dunno! I have a pretty good feeling about 2009! Blogging and whatever else!
HI Sally, I too love Active Rain, and I feel that I have learned a lot, have gained some business, and I am making new friends all the time. It's surprising to me that I really feel like I have good friends here yet I've never met most of them! Maybe someday. Meanwhile, I'll just keep visiting here on AR.

Hi Sally...I'm right there with you, enjoying the last few days of 2008 and looking forward to more of the good life in 2009.

Sally- Yea it's all about the people. I'm ready for 2009 with or without a big plan :)
Sally - you are such an inspiration for so many folks here. Sounds like you have some terrific goals lined up for 2009. Happy New Year!!
Jeff
Ross: And that's what it's about...it only works if hard work and effort is applied to all those 'ideas' and it's all about starting from the inside out :)
Cindy: Hope your plan continues to work for you...no matter what year it is!
Bill: Plan on just continuous planning :) Thanks!
Debe: Thanks for the support! Yup....it's been a heck of a few days....maybe New Years will be better? I think I'll take my mom to lunch :) Blogging here has been the best experience for me...and so far the most productive.....mostly for the friends I've made...thanks!
Mara: Darn tootin! Get revved and stay revved!
Ellie: Oh, it's motivation, determination, consistency and then some :)
Patricia: Good feelings all around.... for 2009 and beyond!
Susan: Look at me...across the ocean....and they come and visit :)
Hey Richard: Yeah....not really so whacked...but what's normal :)
Kate: No kidding! I love my life.... in 2008 or 2009 and many more beyond :)
CTS: Woohoo! Happy New Year to you!
Kathy: Me too....I don't think I've ever 'planned' out my year. I plan a little ahead.....like I write down appointments as they arise lol. Seriously, every day is a learning experience...I am not able to limit it with a few goals written down :)
Jeff: Well, I think you are too... :) Thanks and looking forward to a wonderful end, beginning and in between :) Happy New Year good friend!
Sally- We all need to have a good plan. But you made a profound statement about where we place our blogs, and the affects of the placement. I have yet to get my outside blog to work for me. But that's probably because all my links are to my AR blog posts. I have too many posts, to find them on the outside blog. But all my AR posts are bookmarked in their own categories. I started doing this to my outside posts, but I'm getting very overwhelmed with all things Web 2.0. Just thinking about trying to bookmark all those same posts all over again stresses me out =( *Waaahhhh*
Aloha Sally,
Balance and boundries would be at the top of my list. At this point most of my focus in on life in general. Business of course, but that's what funds my life and fun.
Well done.
Sally, Balance, boundaries, blogging and buddies is what it's all about. I'm looking forward to a great 2009!!! I'm still working on my business plan (had to revise it a little since I moved to another company).
Hi Sally, I wish you all the best in 2009. I love reading about the plans other Active Rainers have for 2009.
Sally... here's to wishing us all a spectacular 2009... may we all find personal and professional balance and success! Happy New Year!
Yes, 2009 is the year to instill the positive into our clients and business partners. One of my goals for 2009 is helping my clients embrace change, learn from the challenges they encounter and move on with their visions and goals. People are fearful of the unknown so if we help them with uncovering the facts of their challenges they can make accurate decisions for themselves. We do have clients for life and we need to assist them in all ways. Thank you your focus. Have a blessed 2009!!!!
You are so focused! I have 10 professional goals for 2009 that I will commit to writing and hopefully pay close attention to. You are right, the possibilities are endless.
Great basics post and I've bookmarked it to raed again! Best to you and your family in the New Year!
2009 holds many promising and adventurous moments for us in real estate. As you said, we are the only ones that can limit our dreams. We are the makers of our own success. I have learned this from many great people that I had the pleasure of doing business with in 2008. While there are many that have left the real estate industry for other professions this year, those of us that keep a strong work ethic and are persistent towards the goal of obtaining our dreams will come out strong in 2009 and the years to come. Real estate remains, in my opinion, the best and most profitable long term investment available. I feel we have the best job in the world. We help people everyday to buy a piece of the American dream. How lucky are we!
Thank you Sally for being such an inspiration and I wish you and the activerain network all the best in 2009.
Love it Sally! It is about balance! I love how you capture that the possibilities are endless. What an example you are at improving our lives and making the most of it.
Great job SallY! Your plan sounds great and I love your comment "whetever forever means" Have a great 2009!
Sally we all need to have an idea of where we want to be and a plan for getting there. Let's hope that we all stay on the road that we map out for 2009 :)
Sally, Great Post. I am new to the Rain and just getting started with blogging. Thanks to your blog, I will add this as an additional activity in my business plan.
Sally, you are right on for the 2009 Business Plan. It is the only way to really get back in focus after this past year. You have my personal encouragement in meeting your personal and professional goals for this coming year. Sounds like you are READY!!
I love blogging here on AR and connecting with other people who understand this business so well. It's a true learning experience
Sally,
Just be good to yourself...I hope you and your husband have a happy New Year.
Sally - your comment about the two blogs is very interesting. Some people blog on AR for both business and the great people. Honestly, how do you have time to do both? I have read that AR has such great google juice that putting business blogs here is good as well, so it's a bit confusing to know which to do? Thanks for any insights you can share and Happy New Year Aloha!
Sally: I enjoyed reading your blog. It was very well written. You have a very positive attitude and you seem extremely determined and focused on making sure 2009 is a great year for you. I have no doubt in my mind that you'll achieve your goals this year.
Happy New Year Sally... here's to a bountiful Bloggfull year!
Hi Sally - I plan to get my roadmap in writing and in place over the next few days. I have it in my head, but will commit to writing this year for the first time ever.
May we all have better years in 2009.
Happy New Year,
Ann
Lisa: That's why....balance and boundaries are VERY important!
Lynda: It's my LIFE continuous goals :) Funding is definitely needed...but without all that we do before...it surely comes seeping out from the inside...and everything else follows :)
Hey Judi! It sure is....I'm loooking forward to continued work...and good luck in your new company and a happy and prosperous 2009!
Shirley: Everyone has a different plan...a different theme of how they live their lives...do their business. It's all in a days work :)
Jesse: WooHoooo! Yup...it's all about well wishes for all!
Natalie: EVERY year is a positive and if we emit positive it will come back tenfold. Being surrounded by positive and supportive people is a must.....and so the same on AR. :)
Kelsey: Who me? Not all the time...human like everyone else. Determinatin, commitment and consistency and watch what happens!
Russell: Wow...thanks and to you too!
Jennifer: There is no greater success than knowing it came from within.... and helping and caring for our clients and always thinking in their best interests...surely allows me to sleep well at night :)
Dave: It sure is! There is no end to what one can do. It's a lifelong learning lesson :)
Hart: Thanks...and you have a wonderful next year and beyond!
George: I gotta a 'road map' for life :) Happy 2009!
Uma: There is no stopping you now!
Jerry: I am always ready :) :)
Erica: The education is astounding, the people here are supportive and gracious and yes....a learning experience like no other.
Neal: Thanks Neal...same to you and your family!
Sharon: I do both in both places but ActiveRain is MORE. We connect...a great referral network and of cours a wonderful place to network with our peers and make friends along the way. Both are for business...but AR is just....MORE>
Tracy: EVERY year will be ...just as I make it :) Thanks and a Happy New Year...and Every year to you too!
Monika: To you tooooo Monika!
Ann: Wonderful! Uh...I think you were writing this year a lot ...and a Happy New Year...and many beyond....HUGS!
I love your posts! sounds like you are in line for a great 2009
I have to admit, Sally, that one of my serious goals for 2009 is to have more balance between work & play.
Aloha, Sally!
I heartily agree with you regarding these wonderful real estate on-line communities. The Internet brings networking to an unbelievable level. Sounds like you have perfect focus and energy to achieve your New Year objectives. May everything wonderful be yours in 2009!
All the best from Florida to Hawaii! Julie
Sally, thanks for a very good post today and a reminder of things yet to come!
Very awesome Sally! It is a great time to be alive and be in our business.
Happy 2009 to everyone and if I could ever help you with anything feel free to conact me.
Hi Sally - I meant that for the first time ever, I will be putting my roadmap down in writing, something I've never done before. Thanks for all your sharing here and all the positiveness you bring to the rain.
Happy New Year and lots of hugs!
Ann
Can I blog on here for business to?
Sally, good for you! happy and prosperous 2$$9 to you! What other outside blogs are you using? Bo
Sally,
As you can see I'm a "bit" behind on reading my Activerain blogs!!! I hope this isn't an indication of how 2009 will be for me!LOL!
I start off every year with great plans/goals/expectations. Somewhere along the line, the written plan gets set aside and I'm off RE-acting instead of,PRO-acting my business plan. And I don't seem to notice this "phenomenon" until year end.
So my question is: What do you(or any of our A.R. readers) do to stay on track? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated and, hopefully, implemented.LOL
Thanks for this thought provoking blog,
Kathy Opatka, Re/Max Premier Properties, Ocean City, Maryland
Sonja: Thanks much
Kent: Balance is key.
Julie: Thanks so much...from Hawaii to Florida!
Tom: The near future is in our hands
Angie: Thanks.
Ann: Wonderful! You too!
Mike: Blogging for biz, bonding with peers...that's what it's all about. We do more than just for business here on AR.
Bo: Thanks.....wordpress, blogger, cre8buzz, realtyworld, my website...
Kathy: Time management, balance and writing down current tasks at hand. I am one NOT to map our my yearly plan ...it's just not happening for me as MANY things pop up. I do however have a plan for a To Do list.
