Imagine the Possibilities

There are just too many words for a stunningly creative pose of an orchid. I continued my quest for orchid blooms and once again found myself at the Kam Swap Meet across from Pearlridge Shopping Center this past Wednesday. Scoping out the isles of wares I frantically eyed each vendor quickly until I found my favorite orchid man.

With a large white truck he unloads hundreds of blooming orchids with colors galore!

Gazing at this blooming orchid (above) I was immediately entranced by the swirls and curls as if each bloom were waving hello to me. That meant I had to buy it. lol.

I wanted a couple more and kept looking and wondering about the lavender array of colors before me. This gorgeous bloomer had it's mouth open and then screamed, "take me home"!  I picked another one with buds and will show you all later but I really wanted to share these as they were just so beautiful.....for a Sunday :) :)

Imagine the possibilites in my garden.

By the way, Kam Swap Meet has everything from local produce, plants, wares, hawaiian crafts, jewelry, clothing and more. For hours and info click here> Kam Swap Meet

Sis - What amazingly beautiful photos!  Kind of reminds one of the soul...

Those are great finds!  I had a distant ex-relative in Honolulu that had a house full of the most beautiful orchids.  I'm getting the feeling you'd give her a run for the money orchids!  The Napa Trader Joe's actually has some of the most exotic orchids that I've seen here.  It's so much fun to go in and check out what they've found this time.  I have several, but I think I need more help with getting them to re-bloom, not just survive!

I'm surprised any survive under mine... I grew up thinking I had a brown thumb.  But over the past few years, I have been able to assist more and more plants to grow.  We even planted a winter garden in Napa this season.  So far, most of the plants are doing really well.  Did lose some of the lettuce to birds and an artichoke didn't make it. Brussel sprouts, onions, garlic, several lettuces, califlower, etc.  I'm so excited.  Had great tomatoes and peppers there last summer.  Can't grow so much in Truckee/Tahoe though.

Cool looking orchids.  I like the pictures.  I don't have to water them.  LOL

Jason--

It's an interesting process... in Truckee, I have all I can do to get anything to grow.  In Napa, I have all I can do to keep the things I don't want in the garden from growing!

Orchids are my favorite flower, Sally! And it looks like you picked some real beauties. That lavender one is definitely a 'keeper'.  :)

Sally -  Beautiful shots. Lisa is jealous. We wish we could grow these in cold cold NJ. We buy them and they just never make it through our winters.   Bob H

That top photo is so cool! It looks like some sort of alien species or something. I love orchids. But they're too much work for me to grow them =(  So thanks for sharing your pics with us! =D

Sally, love that purple gem. I think taking pictures of flowers is one of my favorite things to do - other than, of course, my grandchildren. ;-)
